It Works! It’s Essential Weight Loss Energy Bars Review

Founded in 2001, It Works! is a skin care and nutritional supplement company located in Florida.  A friend introduced me to the brand in August 2013 …and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since!  Being part of their loyal customer program entitles me to exclusive discounts …and only in exchange for an auto-shipment once a month. The auto-shipment is modifiable at any time and works for me, because on a minimum I order a box of “It’s Essential” bars each month.  At $25 for a box of 10 bars (plus $3.95 shipping), these Dark Chocolate Berry Weight Loss Energy Bars are the best tasting protein bars I’ve ever had!!

I’ve tried so many protein bars, in search for a healthy breakfast alternative to leftover pizza LOL… and this one is so fantastically delicious!  I am a huge fan of dark chocolate and an even bigger fan of dark chocolate combined with berries… so It makes complete sense that I would love this product!  You can see the nutrition facts & ingredients in the photo below, but each bar has 10g of protein… not the 30+ grams found in body builder protein bars… but 10g is better than 1g or no grams!

These bars are perfect for my on-the-go lifestyle and they keep me full until lunch time!  Visit and taste the difference for yourself!

I give this product 4 paws!

BarkBox March 2015 Review

BarkBox promises to contain 4-6 dog treats, toys, and occasional hygiene products that are unique from anything they’ll ever send in later boxes.  They hold extremely high standards for all the edible items, sourcing only from USA, Canada, South America and New Zealand. Inside this month’s Movie Night themed BarkBox:

  1. Pet Qwerks Pawpcorn, Retail $10  (Bubba chewed a hole in this toy in 5 minutes, exposing all kinds of stuffing and crinkle liner that is bad for him, so I had to throw it away.  I love the dog themed spelling & how adorable it is for the movie night theme… but sadly it’s not durable at all for my Rottie.)
  2. Nature’s Bits Salmon Recipe, Retail $8  (Made from fish, fruit and veggie ingredients sourced 100% in the USA, Bubb approves of these.)
  3. Butcher’s Block Dynamo, Retail $3  (Hickory smoked and made from beef shank & arm bone, Bubb Loves this!! This was a great addition to this month’s box because it’s sure to be a long-lasting tasty treat for my Bubba.)
  4. Healthy Dogma Bacon Hearts, Retail $8  (These gluten-free bacon treats are made in Michigan and provide omega-3 fatty acids and lean protein.  Bubba loves these heart shaped treats.)
  5. BarkMade Flexi Dog Bowl, Retail $6  (This is manufactured with food-grade silicone and is freezer, dishwasher and oven safe.  I actually almost bought this from the BarkShop, so I was excited to see it included in this box.  It’s perfect for picnics in the park with Bubb!)

$35 Total value and 5 items in this box.  I paid $19 with my 6-month subscription.  I love this month’s movie night theme, since one of my favorite things to do is nuzzle up on the couch with my fuzzy cuddler Bubba and watch TV!  However, I wish the pawpcorn toy was made to be more durable, so that is the only reason for my less than perfect rating.

I give the March 2015 BarkBox 3 paws.

GNC Energy Formula Herbal Supplement Review

I have been taking this GNC Energy Formula Herbal Supplement for over 2 years now & I absolutely LOVE it!  My life is busy and stressful at times… so I get tired throughout the day, even with just thinking about everything I need to get done! In my twenties I used to drink Red Bull (I still do on occasion) for that jolt of energy and motivation I needed to get me through the day.  In my thirties, I realized all of the sugar and calories …among other things in energy drinks… is just not good for our bodies.  On a mission to find an all-natural supplement that worked just as well or better, I tried various Green Tea and Guarana supplements …and eventually found this amazing GNC Energy Formula!  Others I tried were weak and I found didn’t give me much energy.  This blend however, gives me a healthy energy & mental alertness to keep going & push through my daily grind.  The ingredients/ supplement facts are listed below in a photo from the actual bottle label.image

The directions state that you can take 1 to 2 capsules daily, but I usually only take 1 daily, …around lunch time.  I have previously purchased this supplement at, but oddly enough they no longer sell this specific item in stores or online.  I did find the same exact product with a new label at for $12.82 with the GNC gold card, per 100 capsule bottle, … so I stocked up just in case!

I give this product an energetic 4 paws!!

Jolly Pets Teaser Ball, Dog Toy Review

I purchased the Jolly Pets Teaser Ball dog toy from for $10.  This ball within a 4.5″ ball is very durable & my Rottweiler Bubba loves it! It kept him very busy trying to get to that green center ball… Instead of rolling it around and playing with it, he focused his energy trying to chew through the polyethylene outer blue ball.  He was not successful, but there are quite a few bite marks & chewed edges.  I wanted the Teaser Ball to last, so I decided it was best to make this an outdoor toy. Now we play fetch with it and he loves playing “keep away”.  Bubb is always so protective of his new toys LOL… as you can see below!

I highly recommend this toy for even the most aggressive of chewers.  The teaser balls are available in multiple sizes, in a variety of colors!

I give this dog toy 4 paws!

Revlon “Jungle Gem” Nail Art Style Strips Review

To ensure I didn’t get pinched this St. Patrick’s Day LOL… I decided I would rock these super awesome, sparkly green leopard & black Revlon Nail Art Style Strips that I’ve had stashed away for probably close to a year!  I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to wear these “Jungle Gem” strips, since I only had the one set!  I purchased them at CVS and I’m so sad that I didn’t stock up… because I love them and cannot find them in stores anymore!  They are not even on Revlon’s website!!  I did some research and only found them being sold by various sellers on ebay for around $5 each.

They are so easy to apply and look great on… not even a top coat is needed!  These are made of actual polish… you can smell that evidence once you open the sealed package!  You will need to use them immediately after opening the sealed strips, as air will cause them to dry out!  Kit includes: 16 strips in various sizes, a nail file and wooden cuticle stick.

  • Prep nails for application: swipe them with polish remover & gently push back cuticles.
  • Select the strips that best fit your nails.
  • There is a clear plastic cover on each strip you need to peel away, then remove the backing of the strip.
  • Position the strip onto your fingernail, press & stretch for a smooth, snug fit!
  • Crease strip at nail edge and file off the excess so that only your nail is covered & there is no overhang.

I found it best to not file your nails during the beginning prep, per the instruction, but rather wait an hour after application for them to set… and then trim your fingernails with clippers.  This way the strips have nice perfect lines on the tips!  Here is the spectacular final result:

Of course I accessorized with alligator & frog rings to keep up the green theme!  There were several other designs Revlon created in this collection, one that I am going to buy for sure on ebay is an adorable red lipstick print called “Lips & Tips”!!  I am going to send my rave review to Revlon and hope that another collection of Style Strips is on the way!

I give this product 4 stylishly nailed paws!!

Key West Aloe, Aloethera Intensive Hand Lotion Review

I bought this for $15.00 during a sale of Key West Aloe products last June, on  The same 12-oz bottle goes for $32 in  Aloethera KWA products are made with 100% Lab-Certified Aloe as their foundation! This product contains 52% aloe.

My hands get pretty dry if I don’t keep them moisturized and I am very picky with my hand lotions!  I was drawn to this one due to the high content of aloe… so many aloe products out there have very little actual aloe in them …if you read the label closely.  I have been using this on my hands for 8 months now and it has become one of my favorite hand moisturizers!  It keeps my hands from being dry, absorbs into my skin perfectly and has a great fresh aloe scent to it as well.  I would absolutely buy this again & probably will when my supply runs low!

I give this product 4 (intensely moisturized) paws! LOL

Darby Smart To DIY For February 2015 Box Review

My first Darby Smart “To DIY For” monthly kit arrived! YAY!!  I signed up for the 3-month subscription and paid only $28 total for it because there was a promotion of 1-month free!  That is under $10 per monthly DIY kit… such an amazing deal! Regular pricing is $19 per month, $114 for 6 months or $199 for 1 year.  If you love to craft and create… I highly suggest you visit  This month’s project was “Decorative  Monogram Ring Dishes” and included the following:

  • 2 circular porcelain dishes
  • Reusable adhesive alphabet stencil
  • Reusable adhesive berries design stencil
  • 2 folk art enamel paints (I got dark green & yellow)
  • Foam brush
  • Pop Bar, hot chocolate on a stick (Not part of the project, just a surprise treat meant to be enjoyed while I craft.)

I wasn’t crazy about the colors I received in my kit, so I purchased a few others of the same kind at my favorite craft store, Michaels.  I also wanted to turn my ring dishes into “critter dishes”… because I’ve been wanting to make some ever since I saw those online… so I added a plastic dinosaur & panda bear to my materials, 2 rhinestone accessories they will wear and E6000 adhesive!

I used the alphabet stencils to paint on “Rawr” and “Pandamonium”, which was easy based on the online instructions.  Each kit usually includes a card with a code word you enter to get project instructions online at …but mine was not included so I emailed them and they promptly replied with the code info I needed.  I decided I wanted to add a spiral water-like design to my “Rawr” dish, so I used a paint brush I had on hand to create that.  The instructions said to wait 3 minutes before layering on the next design… I waited about 30 minutes, and when I used the berry stencils for the center of my “Pandamonium” dish, sadly some of the lime green letter paint peeled off when removing the berry stencils.  I was able to easily fix the damage so it didn’t bother me much.

As instructed, I put both on a baking sheet, set the oven to 300 degrees and baked them for 30 minutes.  After 30 minutes, I turned the oven off and let them cool off in the oven for the next hour.  I then removed them and they sat overnight.

I attached the critters to the dishes and attached the rhinestone accessories to the critters using the E6000 adhesive and let them set for a couple hours.  Here is the final result:

OMG I just loved making these and I’m so happy with the results!!  Although I had to add a few more items to the kit to create what I wanted… I still love what I received from Darby Smart because it finally gave me the push I needed to create these critter dishes I’ve been longing to make!

I give this DIY box 4 paws!
