Victoria’s Secret Ultra-Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner Review

image

I am SUCH a sucker for a free tote offer!!

I purchased these and several other beauty products to get an amazing purple leopard tote LOL!  No regrets.  The tote is amazing LOL …and so are all the beauty products I bought, including this VS Ultra-Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner duo for $10 each 10.1 fl oz bottle!

They are $14 each at full price, but if you know Victoria’s Secret… then you know they always have bundle specials with their beauty products.

It’s hard to describe the scent… but it’s very girly and floral… almost like a perfume for your hair, but not too strong… I love it!

The shampoo cleans my hair to perfection and the conditioner leaves it feeling SO luxurious and soft!

I would definitely purchase & pamper my hair with these again.

Clear Scalp & Hair Strong Lengths Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Got weak hair that is prone to breakage?… then Clear Scalp & Hair Strong Lengths Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner is the duo for you!

I bought the 12.9 oz bottle of shampoo for $4.39 and the 12.7 oz bottle of conditioner for $5.49, both on Amazon.com via their “Prime Pantry” service.

This formula claims to “help restore the scalp’s natural moisture balance…  formulated with Nutrium 10, an advanced moisture complex of vitamins & nutrients including vitamins B5, C and E, sunflower, almond, soybean and coconut oils and aloe vera”.

I’ve never had a problem with weak hair… until I went through a very stressful time in my life last year… which resulted in a scary amount of my hair breaking/ falling out.  Maybe I’m managing my stress better… or maybe it’s the shampoo & conditioner duo… I’m not sure… but my hair has been quickly growing back & staying strong!

The one issue Clear Scalp & Hair hasn’t seemed to fix… split ends!!  Even with regular hair cuts, I still get SO many!  I wash my hair about every other day, to let my body repair my hair with my own natural oils… and still… split ends.  I don’t color my hair and I very rarely use hot styling tools.  I do however love to twirl my hair… and have since I was about 2 years old, and would suck my thumb while doing so LOL.  Maybe the hair twirling is the issue…

I’ve been reading up on hair oils & treatments to remedy split ends… so I’ll be trying some out & sharing my reviews soon!

It’s a 10, Miracle Leave-In Product Review

image

I purchased the 4-oz size for $18 at Birchbox.com… the same price as Ulta.com.  I’ve seen It’s a 10 miracle leave-in product for a LONG time in magazine ads and in stores… but never tried it until recently!

This leave-in product claims to offer the following benefits:

  1. Detangles
  2. Eliminates frizz
  3. Restores shine
  4. Protects hair from heated styling tools
  5. Prevents split ends
  6. Shields from environmental damage with green tea leaf extract
  7. Strengthens Strands with provitamin panthenol
  8. Softens strands
  9. Seals & protects hair color
  10. Enhances natural body

I have long hair that goes down to about the middle of my back… so a detangler is a MUST for me.  Even with conditioners… if I don’t use a detangler, I’m likely going to have hair breakage.  I think this leave-in product is an exceptional detangler and although I can’t prove #6 LOL, it appears to deliver on all the above claims.   I am extremely happy with my hair after rubbing a nickel-sized amount through my hands and then running my hands through my wet hair.  Once it air drys… it’s perfection!

I will definitely continue using this product… and I now want to try some of the brands other products.

Macadamia Natural Oil Rejuvenating Shampoo & Moisturizing Rinse Review

image

I bought these 10 fl. oz. size Macadamia Natural Oil hair care products at Marshalls.  The Rejuvenating Shampoo was $9.99 and the Moisturizing Rinse was $12.99.  I found the duo on amazon.com for $29.49, in case you can’t find it at your local Marshalls.  They are both Color-Safe (I haven’t colored my hair since 2006), Paraben-Free and Sulfate-Free.

“Filled with Omega 3, 5 and 7, Macadamia Oil mimics your scalp’s natural oil production to renew dry, damaged and color-treated hair of all textures.”

After using both products in conjunction on my hair for the past couple months or so, I can report that I don’t Love this shampoo and conditioner duo for my straight brunette hair.  They aren’t bad products… and seemed to clean my hair just fine… they just didn’t provide the light-weight, luxurious feeling that other products have.  It does leave my hair soft & manageable as promised… making it very easy to brush through when wet.  Not having to use a detangler on my long hair saves me valuable time when getting ready!  It has a fresh light scent that smells great from the bottle and while washing my hair… but the scent does not last.  I love the hair care products that make my hair smell delicious until my next wash!  So although these are good hair care products, I would likely not purchase them again.  If a lasting scent doesn’t matter to you, then it may be worth a try, to see if these products are fit for your hair type!

I give this duo 3 paws.

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo & Conditioner Review

20140730_222852

I absolutely love John Frieda’s Brilliant Brunette shampoo & conditioner duo!!  I’ve been washing my hair with it for many years.  It claims to “bring out rich, multi-dimensional brunette tones + shine in just one use”.  It is hard for me to confirm this… but it doesn’t matter because this is not the reason I’m so obsessed with this product.

It leaves my hair feeling fabulously silky!  I am a “hair twirler” LOL… ever since I can remember (my mom will confirm this), I have been twirling my hair through my fingers.  Sometimes I don’t even realize that I’m doing it!  I just love the lightweight softness… and don’t even get me started on the scent!!

If you’ve read my previous blogs then you know I’m a sucker for the aroma of sweet almond oil… and that is exactly what both the shampoo & conditioner smell like.  The label says the almond oil is what gives your hair that soft silky feeling.

They have the duo for blonde & red hair as well… Not sure if the scent or feel is comparable,… but absolutely, if you are a brunette you should pick this John Frieda creation up ASAP.  (Claims to work on natural or highlighted brunettes)  It’s extremely affordable as well, at under $10 each, per 8.45 fl. oz. bottle and there are often coupons & store specials with the purchase of 2 bottles.  They do contain sulfates.. Boooooo…. but I don’t care… I love it that much LOL!

The “Wet” Brush Review

DSCN4684

This hair brush claims to be “The most amazing Detangling Brush you’ll ever use!”  I second that opinion!!

This brush is intended to be used on wet hair, for “No Tears, No Snags, No Clumps, No Tangles” but can also be used on dry hair.  I have been using a hair pick for as long as I can remember, to brush my straight, mid-back length brunette hair, when wet.  This innovative new brush immediately replaced my hair pick for my after shower detangling tool!  The entire brush is extremely light-weight and the bristles & tips are about a third of the size of those on a traditional brush, which allows it more flexibility to glide easily through wet hair.  It’s not 100% “tangle-free”, as I still will have at least one clump of hair that tests my pain tolerance. 🙂

With that being said… this is still a pretty fantastic brush that I will use over my hair pick 10 out of 10 times!
