S’well ‘Santorini’ Bottle & Brush Review

Keeps drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12.

I only use it to keep ice cold water in, to stay hydrated all day… but impressively, my water stays ice cold (ice cubes and all) for 24 hours or more!!

This ‘Santorini’ bottle has a hand-painted design from the textile collection, but there are SO many designs to choose from! I definitely want another one, to take two on the go for longer travels. The S’well brush is a must-have, to easily and thoroughly clean your bottle(s).

Both were bought from The Container Store. Reusable bottle brush was $19.99 and S’well bottle was $34.99.

Bottle brush has a replaceable head. Bristles are polypropylene and head is dishwasher safe. Brush handle is bamboo + stainless steel… and not dishwasher safe!

Bottle is 17-oz/ 500-ml and made of double-walled, insulated stainless steel. Not dishwasher, microwave or freezer safe!

For every bottle sold, a tree will be planted! I’m definitely going to buy another S’well… because by using these bottles, I am reducing the number of plastic bottles in landfills and oceans!

Bubba BPA-free Insulated Travel Mug Review

image

  • 35 Billion… the number of plastic bottles Americans throw away every year.
  • 90… the percentage of trash that is plastic, floating on the ocean’s surface.
  • 46,000… the number of plastic pieces per square mile, in the great pacific garbage patch (located off the coast of California), which is the largest ocean garbage site in the world and twice the size of Texas!
  • 1 Million… the number of sea birds killed annually from plastic in our oceans.
  • 100,000… the number of marine mammals killed annually from plastic in our oceans.
  • 500-1,000… the number of years it takes for plastic to degrade.  (Virtually every piece of plastic ever made, still exists in some capacity, with the exception of the small amount that has been incinerated.)
  • 93… the percentage of Americans, age six or older, that test positive for the plastic chemical BPA.

These startling facts and many more are courtesy of EcoWatch.com. It is SO important that this enormous issue gets the concern of every person on earth!

Recycling your plastic is a great place to start, but my husband and I took it a step further about 2 years ago… when we decided to give plastic water bottles the boot for good!  We drink A LOT of water, so we would go through about two 24 packs of bottled water… a week! That is about 2,500 plastic bottles a year!  We each have 5 various Bubba BPA-free bottles and mugs from their large product line, that we fill every day with filtered water.  The insulated mug pictured in this post, is my latest addition to my collection and is one of my favorites, because my ice water stays ice cold until the very last drop hours later!  Although it’s 32-oz capacity is large, the design allows it to still fit in my cars cup holder.  I haven’t had a need to use the bottle opener on the bottom of the handle, but I bet it will come in handy one day.  I purchased this from amazon.com for $14.98, but the return on investment is invaluable!

I feel so good, that every year there are 2,500 less plastic bottles being added to the landfills because of our simple lifestyle change! A change that is not only better for the planet, AND healthier for us… but it also saves us about $550 a year!!

Bath & Body Works PocketBac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel Review

image

Yep,… I am a mild germaphobe!  Coupled with my hypochondria… thank goodness there’s Pocketbac!!  These little germ fighters are the perfect defense against the harmful bacteria we come in contact with each and every day via ATM’s, public restrooms, door handles, gas pumps, other people, and SO much more.  I stock up on this Bath & Body Works product when they have specials like 5 for $5 or 10 for $10.  If you could put a price on time lost due to being sick… I’m pretty sure it would be substantially more than a dollar!!

They have dozens of scent options available.  I like fruity scents, …thus my haul below… “wild mango mojito” is my favorite!

  • Copacabana Coconut
  • Crisp Apples
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Golden Apricot
  • Jungle Passion Fruit
  • Twisted Peppermint
  • White Lily & Lime
  • Wild Mango Mojito

These are small enough to put in your pocket (thus the name LOL)… I always keep one in my purse & one in my desk drawer at work.  The perfect solution when soap & water is not immediately available! Those pump handles at gas stations are likely never cleaned, EW… I always rub a small dollop of PocketBac into my hands after pumping gas & using ATM’s… I doubt those key pads get cleaned either!  I must be doing something right, because I’m rarely sick!

GNC Energy Formula Herbal Supplement Review

image

I have been taking this GNC Energy Formula Herbal Supplement for over 2 years now & I absolutely LOVE it!  My life is busy and stressful at times… so I get tired throughout the day, even with just thinking about everything I need to get done! In my twenties I used to drink Red Bull (I still do on occasion) for that jolt of energy and motivation I needed to get me through the day.  In my thirties, I realized all of the sugar and calories …among other things in energy drinks… is just not good for our bodies.  On a mission to find an all-natural supplement that worked just as well or better, I tried various Green Tea and Guarana supplements …and eventually found this amazing GNC Energy Formula!  Others I tried were weak and I found didn’t give me much energy.  This blend however, gives me a healthy energy & mental alertness to keep going & push through my daily grind.  The ingredients/ supplement facts are listed below in a photo from the actual bottle label.image

The directions state that you can take 1 to 2 capsules daily, but I usually only take 1 daily, …around lunch time.  I have previously purchased this supplement at GNC.com, but oddly enough they no longer sell this specific item in stores or online.  I did find the same exact product with a new label at DrugStore.com for $12.82 with the GNC gold card, per 100 capsule bottle, … so I stocked up just in case!

I give this product an energetic 4 paws!!

ThermaCare Menstrual Heat Wraps Review

image

For my male readers… you may want to skip this girly post LOL… unless your girlfriend or wife suffers from severe menstrual cramps!

I have been using these for years now… ever since I discovered their amazing pain relief power!  The past year or so they’ve been extremely hard to find in stores, so I buy these at DrugStore.com, at $6.99 for a 3-pack box.  I have tried the store brand copy cats… and trust me… they cannot even compare to ThermaCare! (awesome rhyme, yay me!)  The store brands just don’t work, …period. (pun intended LOL)  My cramps in the first 24 hours of “Aunt Flo’s” arrival, are only bearable with a heat wrap coupled with Excedrin as directed.  The wraps can be worn for 8 hours, stay in place with a sticky back & are easily concealed with proper outfit selection!  I wouldn’t wear it with a dress… but who feels like wearing a dress that week anyways!
